Hello, 2025! A New Year, A New Business in Sandpoint, Idaho

This year marks the start of an exciting new chapter for my family and I. I am launching a business I’ve always envisioned for myself right here in North Idaho. While being a career mom & photographer has brought me immense joy, I’ve always dreamed of channeling my creative energy into interior design as well, especially children’s room design and play spaces. I’ll always continue my work as a family and wedding photojournalist at So Many Moments, I don't think I could everI put down a camera for good. It bring me so much joy to document wedding and family stories. But I’m thrilled to embrace this new creative venture right alongside it.

If 2024 taught me anything, it’s that later is too late. If you want to do something, NOW is absolutely the time. This past year, our family was tested and reached new heights in understanding the value of faith, patience, and following your heart.

Last year, my husband Matthew and I worked harder than ever to be intentional parents to our four favorite little humans, balancing adventure with love and stability. We taught them the value of a careful gamble with a cross-country move 3,000 miles from anyone they knew, career transitions, a full kitchen remodel with a baby and toddler in the house, a new school, and a new home. During our challenges, and even a health scare, it only became more clear to me that following my heart is paramount. I made myself a promise: I won’t settle for less than we want and I won't take any moments for granted.  With great sacrifice comes great reward. So with that, it’s time to fully embrace my dream of creating joyful, functional, and imaginative spaces for kids where they can truly blossom.

Why Little Room to Bloom?

Art & design have always been part of who I am. As a child, I spent hours sketching dream houses and imagining rooms filled with color. By the time I was a pre-teen, I was begging my parents to let me decorate my room myself (spoiler alert: they said no to a green carpet to look like grass and a swing-set swing hung in my bedroom).

For highschool, I attended the Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, FL and continued in life drawing and darkroom photography classes through college while studying Graphic Design. While being classically taught, I first learned the skeletal structure, how to layer muscle on the bones, and then finally the skin to draw people. Now I draw my children in a variety of ways and paint them in all sorts of mediums for fun.

Fast forward to today: I’m in the thick of raised four fantastic (& completely different) kids, I’ve lived in homes of all sizes, from having a basement playroom and walk-in closets to tight spaces with limited storage. I’ve experimented with countless organization and playroom strategies over the years. From toy rotations to sensory bins, I’m a seasoned professional mom now and I absolutely know what works (and does not work) for families. I’m passionate about creating spaces that are more than just pretty, but also practical, inspiring, and designed to grow with your child and bring a fresh energy to your home.

I love creating spaces that do more than just look good. My designs focus is on supporting early learning & encouraging creative play in a healthy environment for growing children. Little Room to Bloom builds engaging spaces for kids, which naturally limits screen time, fosters independence, and nurtures a sense of true wonder and exploration.

My other focus is decluttering, organization and creating systems that make keeping up with the home easier on everyone. A tidy environment encourages better play, but it also keeps stress levels down. I want to help the other mamas out there create more tranquil homes.

What I Offer: A space for them to bloom:

At Little Room to Bloom, I specialize in:

  • Nursery design to start your journey into motherhood on the right foot

  • Children’s room design tailored to your child’s needs and interests & designed to grow with them.

  • Kid’s indoor playroom design that prioritizes organization, imaginative play, and supports early learning development.

  • Custom murals to bring vibrant, personal touches to any space. Kids love color (and so do I!)

  • Oraginization and decluttering to help with either kid's bedrooms or organize playrooms

  • Playground and backyard play areas to inspire outdoor time. Especially in the Pacific Northwest, being outside is the best!

Every project is a chance to combine creativity and practicality. From baby nursery design to cool teen room makeovers, and organizing all the toddler toys in between, I can’t wait to jump in.

My Experience

If building and birthing four entirely unique little humans didn’t give me experience with kids, raising them sure has! Combine that with moving three times since becoming a mom, two of those moves spanning 3,000 miles, and I’ve gained a deep understanding of organizing children's toys, books, and belongings. Each move also gave me the opportunity to grow my design skills, as my husband has always graciously trusted me to transform our houses into homes.

After years of being a "serial mover" and swapping rental apartments in the city annually, we finally purchased our first home in Oregon. At our beloved Hill Top House, I painted, decorated, and renovated to my heart's content. One of the biggest projects we’ve ever tackled was the retaining wall garden my husband and I designed and built ourselves. He got into the best shape of his life hauling those bricks uphill to our baackyard! I love gardening and landscaping and creating spaces for children to play outside more too.

Inside, I updated each and every space, including my first full-wall mural in the basement guest room. That mural transformed a dark and tiny space from creepy to quite cozy, and I was hooked. Paint’s ability to completely change a room has always felt like magic to me.

When we moved south to Florida, I turned our Hill Top House into a 5-star Airbnb. But when it came time to let it go, a wonderful family bought it before I even listed it, boosting my confidence in my ability to create inviting, livable spaces.

Moving to the sunshine state presented a new challenge: the only house we could afford needed some serious TLC. It was an '80s fixer-upper with a hole in the roof, but I saw nothing but potential. Over the next six years, I poured my heart (& all our spare cash) into caring for it and renovating it.

I learned how to lay LVP flooring and tile too over my pregnant belly. I designed a raised garden bed and chicken yard, planted a tropical food forest, designed a custom playhouse (painted ombre in sunset hues, because I was definitely embracing the tropical lifestyle), and tackled larger projects like leading two bathroom renovations, adding closet space, and managing a full kitchen overhaul with a baby on my hip and toddler at my feet. Through it all, I found immense joy in bringing these spaces to life for our family. And naturally, I splashed a lot of paint on a lot of walls.

The Sarasota home was more than just a design project, it was where we welcomed our two youngest boys into the world. I didn’t make design choices for anyone but our family. I didn’t paint it all neutral or worry about what other people would think should we not live there anymore. I thought this would be our home for life. But life has a funny way of keeping you on your toes, and sure enough, life has led us ALL the way back up to the Pacific Northwest to a tiny mountain town in North Idaho. I’m happy to report we were able to rent it to a family who wasn’t looking for a white box and is enjoying the vibrant tropical vibes.

Now, with Little Room to Bloom, I’m thrilled to bring my years of experience as a mom, artist, decorator, and DIY enthusiast to the Coeur d'Alene region of Idaho.
